Your data are NOT worth $54 million

Raelyn Campbell took her computer to Best Buy for repairs. When Best Buy lost her computer, they offered to replace her computer. However, she claimed that she lost valuable photos and tax records, so Campbell sued Best Buy for $54 million. A few days ago, her lawsuit was dismissed.

If her data were really worth $54 million, she should have made backups. And she should have encrypted or deleted any sensitive data before giving her computer to Best Buy.

Justice prevails.
